We provide young, competitive athletes with the unique opportunity to learn from and interact with
Canadian Olympians and Paralympians.
Our vision is to build programs that give young athletes across Canada, access to training and coaching
to help them reach Olympic and Paralympic status.
Our Team
George Short - President
George, who has operated various sport-related programs under the ‘Future Stars’ brand in Canada since
1984, competed as a sprinter at the 1960 Olympics and 1959 Pan-American Games. He spent 31 years
at Concordia University as an athletic administrator and director of the Graduate Program in Sport
Administration. He is an inductee of the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame, the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of
Fame and the University of Windsor Sports Hall of Fame.
Lesley Short - Head of Business Development
Lesley, has over 20 years of Sales, Marketing and Operations experience, working for global companies in both Canada and the US. She leads Business Development including Branding, Partnerships, and Licensing for Future Stars. Prior to starting her business career, Lesley was an elite athlete who competed at the National and International level for 10+ years.
